Thomas O. Fox, Ph.D., has served as Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Director of Graduate Studies at Harvard Medical School (HMS). He assisted in the establishment and later co-headed the Program in Neuroscience graduate program as well as directed the Neuroscience post-doctoral research training program at Children's Hospital in Boston. He served as Director of Graduate Studies at Washington University in St. Louis and currently is a Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore. Tom graduated from Pomona College, did his graduate work at Princeton, and was a postdoctoral fellow and faculty member in Neuroscience at Harvard Medical School.

Tom had several roles in the Association of Neuroscience Departments and Programs (ANDP) including President. He has been active in the Graduate Research, Education and Training (GREAT) Group of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), chairing its Task Force on Benchmarks of Success in Graduate Programs, and serving on its Steering Committee and as Chair. He co-heads the International Advisory Council of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL) in Monterrey, Mexico.

His research has been in biochemical genetics and developmental neurobiology focusing on the control of cell division, the presence and role of androgen receptors in brain, abnormalities in mammalian sexual development, and the mechanisms of sex steroid action in sexual differentiation of brain and behavior.
